Well the B16 & B17 are the same block. So I guess I'd sleeve the B16...probably to 85mm and then use the B17 crank & rods. Makes for a nice combo IMO.

Re: Stroked GSR? (verticle)

...and I say if you're going to tear it all down to a bare block and bore it out then why bother boring it .25mm or even .5mm? That's fine if you have deeply scratched cylinder walls or other damage...

Re: pics of my new NA block (H2nr)

Closed deck eh. Who did the work? What's your target compression?

Re: Stroked GSR? (krazie1)

I believe Crower has a kit with a 92mm crank. I'd stick to boring to increase displacement, but the option is there just the same.

Re: improve my suspension setup please (KillaB-)

Why don't you just trade in the GC knockoffs for GCs? I paired GCs with cheapish KYB AGXs and have been happy with the suspension setup since. Koni dampers should work out even better.

Re: b16 make it a 2.0 (Two_K Si)

You can get to 1.9l fairly easily and w/o a wild stroke by sleeving and boring to 86mm and swapping to B17 crank & rods. That'd be my choice if I were determined to stick with a B16 block.

Re: (GumballNA)

Those will be some very weak cylinder walls. A little bit of detonation and your motor will be a ghost. The gain you'll get from 1mm larger bore won't nearly be worth the risk if you're going to pump...

Re: Compression Ratio on pump gas (dornon13)

12:1 should be fine properly tuned. Your target compression should depend heavily on which cams you intend to use.

I'm on an action segmented kevlar clutch and couldn't be happier.

I suspect...

Re: (phantom_sol)

I'm not familiar with the specs on the supertech valvetrain components, but changing valvetrain components is unnecessary in your situation with CTR/ITR cams unless you increase the redline. If you...

Re: Cam comparison (phantom_sol)

Most of the aftermarket company's stg 1 cams are not a great deal more aggressive than ctr cams. Skunk2's stg 1 cams for instance have nearly identical lift as CTR cams. They do add some duration(+9I...

Re: (2000ekhatch)

No the deck height is not the same, the b16 is shorter. I want to say 7mm shorter, but I forget the exact spec.

Re: (BLK99VTECR)

Just another reason to go for the skunk2 IM if/when you can afford it. It's a good mod and the inability of the P28 to control the secondary runners on the stock manifold just gives you another...

Re: all motor compression (Quitripin)

My compression is at 12.8:1 static, comes in around 11.4:1 dynamic.

Re: Skunk2 Manifold power loss (Downey)

I think that result is fairly typical. My GSR experienced a similar dip with the skunk2 manifold and also better breathing in the top end, though I made many changes at the same time so I cannot...

Re: Clutch fluid leak from tranny! help please.. (01DC-2)

You fix it by replacing the clutch slave cylinder unit on the side of the tranny by the radiator.

B16 & B18 tranny case differences

I'm wondering if anyone knows offhand what the differences are between these two tranny casings. I know more than I cared to about b18 trannys, since I've had quite a struggle with mine for the last...

Re: New setup, Good or Bad (HighRevn)

What do you mean they were junk? What was wrong with them? Did you inspect them first? I've had good luck with thepartstrader.com and buying stuff from the classifieds right here on HT.

Re: Skunk 2 cams in b16a2 (clemsonhatch)

12:1 most likely, depending on your particularly setup, because there's a fairly substantial loss of cylinder pressure with these cams. Just run your numbers through a dynamic compression calculator...
