Thanks for reminding me to update this thread! In the end, I did figure out what was happening. Assuming you read through the whole thread, you can see each path I took to try and resolve the issue....

Re: Hybrid Racing Civic Master Cylinder Upgrade

I've never heard of this issue. Does your clutch have high mileage? When I originally installed mine, it felt exactly the same as the original unit. The only difference I felt was during high rpm...

Re: Replacing Cam Plug Seal (end)

Re: Replacing Cam Plug Seal (end)

If you want to use one of the aluminum/o-ringed aftermarket plugs, there is no way around removing the valve cover. There is a revised plug, which I can't seem to find a picture of, that will clip...

Re: OEM Tach reading incorrectly

It may very well be just a tach thing. However, it was fine for...16-17 years then all of a sudden not? Plus, it read just as incorrectly with the extra tach that I picked up. I'm not willing to...

Re: OEM Tach reading incorrectly

Sadly, no. I've tried so many different things that I'm at a loss. I picked up some shielded cable to try and make a distributor harness that is completely isolated from the main harness. I also...

Re: Replacing Cam Plug Seal (end)

The revised plug is definitely a way to go for a budget fix.

Re: 94 Si hatch/JDM GSR engine/USDM P72 ECU -- Confounded Tach Problem

Ron,

This is a serious stretch. My battery is old...probably 7-8 years old. I've deep cycled it numerous times over that time period. Could that cause an issue? I am getting good voltage...

Re: Confounded Tach Problem

I've swapped tach's and I've also completely bypassed the wiring harness by running power directly off of the battery to an OEM tach and ran the signal directly off of the blue wire on the...

Re: Confounded Tach Problem

I'm dusting this one off for another round. <sigh>

The odd-ball donor ECU that I borrowed (the JDM Auto P72 ecu) has a different pin pattern than every other ECU you can toss in. Once I sorted...

Re: JDM B18C Automatic ECU - Different Pin-outs?

I turns out that the odd-ball JDM P72 automatic trans ECU is different. Aside from the extra connector and the auto trans pins, there are three wires that need to be moved. The VTEC solenoid wire,...

Re: Hybrid Racing Civic Master Cylinder Upgrade

No idea how much a shop would charge. It's in a very tight spot so the shop rate may be kind of high. On a normal car with easy access to the CMC, I would say it would be very easy. The only...

Re: Hybrid Racing Civic Master Cylinder Upgrade

I ordered the line before I even looked at the setup. I knew it could be done but I just decided to get the SS line.

Hybrid Racing Civic Master Cylinder Upgrade

Thought I would drop a post about this and tell you how well it worked.

I've had my '07 Si since it was new back in 2007. I've always felt that the clutch was never fully disengaging. While...

Re: Rear Hum! running out of ideas

It's easy as long as you can get the inner race off of the spindle. The last one I had to replace had started to "fuse" itself to the spindle. Between a cutting tool and an air chisel, I was able...

Re: Rear Hum! running out of ideas

I would agree. I've never tried to find just the bearing so I really don't know if it's out there. The only comfort I find with the price, is that unless you are doing something insane, you should...

Re: 2006-2008 Civic suggestions

I don't know if people have been driving these long enough to know that, but I can say this, respect it, maintain it, and it will last as long as you need. I've had mine for 5 years with 80k on it...

Re: 2006-2008 Civic suggestions

Gas and go. I've had my '07 for 5 years with no real issues other than below:

The earlier versions have the older rear upper control arms that will do a great job of eating tires. Either get an...

Re: 98 Civic - Is it possible to swap out power steering rack for manual rack?

All you'll need is the rack, the weather seal and the universal. You shouldn't need the entire column up to the wheel.
