Username: Fibercation (NOT recommended)
I purchased a set of 98+ Integra Headlights from him on January 4th, 2012. They were shipped out on January 5th. I received them about an hour ago and the box was beat up and the headlights only had a few pieces of newspaper around them. They are cracked in a few places and the mounting tabs are broken AND missing. I contacted Shane (Fibercation) in which he stated he will not be refunding my money for this issue. He told me to call Fedex. Fedex's policy is that the shipper makes the claim.
I used to work in a shipping department and worked with Fedex and UPS all the time. Both companies require a certain amount of spacing between the box and and contents. It was packaged poorly. So now I am stuck with broken headlights and no cash.
Be very cautious if he is selling anything else.

Definitely need 3" of packaging between box and item if you expect shipper to pay on the insurance. Poor packaging. And the fact the broken tabs are missing tells you something. Lame. Good luck bro.

Never had a problem with him. I believe I have purchased from him, and I have recently sold to him.
If the box is banged up, then a claim should be filed with FedEx. If FedEx requires the shipper to make the claim, he should hopefully help you out and at least submit a claim.

we went through an exchange of words. claim or no claim with fedex, it is at shippers fault. fedex is going to come and say that. i will post pics so you can see the terrible job. not fragile stickers, taped terribly, no protection inside.

courier employees and a crappy box
voila, open the flaps and this is what I see
the great padding inside. i placed a pocket sized anti-bacterial cleaner so you can see the depth and the amount of just paper that was used.

To be honest, this is about average for how items usually come packaged from private sellers in my experience.
Not saying it's how it should be done, but it's approximately what I've come to expect.
There's no reason he shouldn't help you get this resolved though.

Re: Username: Fibercation (NOT recommended)
yessir i did
I package things the way i would want to receive them. to put an extra few pieces of padding or protection costs cents to an extra $2. To me, its way worth my selling/shipping rep and not having to worry about getting a product back from a buyer.
its just plain being cheap and lazy. but its also because i worked in the shipping department for a company and I know what UPS, Fedex, etc will say

Re: Username: Fibercation (NOT recommended)
I've sold several of headlights in the past and i can tell you, sometimes i have to overquote on shipping just to make up for a larger box, more weight of packaging materials.
The sellers should of know to do so. Sorry that this transaction didn't work out for you.

bump, just like 99% of Shane's posts are anyways.
This is not a new issue. It has be ongoing for 6+ years with Shane. He's been banned from several forums because of his posting tactics.
His banned list that I'm aware of.....
www.ohiohondas.com
www.cincystreetscene.com
www.cincinatistreetracing.com
www.sohchonda.com
www.d-series.com
Might have been banned on MICivics and 502streetscene, but I don't visit those forums any more.
If Shane is unwilling to file the claim for his crappy and cheap packing, his selling privileges should be removed as well.
