Default TW: Bense's D-series hybrid close ratio transmission (close ratios like a GSR but for d-series!)

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD! for $580!

EDIT: more added below, I am offering a 5th gear option for this

I may be willing to sell this thing. The only reason that I am selling is because well, I have parts to build another one with a quaife LSD and a infinitude final drive.

This is a hydro transmission, it fits all 92-00 civics and all d-series engines.

1st = 3.25 (all d-series)
2nd = 1.9 (ex/si)
3rd = 1.346 (cable dohc zc tranny!)
4th = 1.033 crx hf 3rd as 4th
5th = 0.702 (dx/lx/hx/vx/ex/cx) 5th. (3400rpm @ 80) (I can put whatever 5th gear you want in here) But that will cost extra. I currently only have a 0.702 and a zc 5th. Got a 88-91 dx/ex tranny to pull 5th gear out of? 0.771 makes a nice 5th gear ratio. Math calculations below with the gearing differences.
ex final of 4.25

gears end at the following mph.
35, 60, 85, 111, 163 (0.702 5th)

As taken from my tranny page, this will show the closeness of the gears:
1.900 / 3.250 = 0.58466 or 58.466%
1.346 / 1.900 = 0.70842 or 70.842%
1.033 / 1.346 = 0.76746 or 76.746%
0.702 / 1.033 = 0.67957 or 67.957% (bigger gap between 4th and 5th because I chose to use a 0.702 5th for better highway rpm and gas mileage. It's not like I need to accelerate past 111mph anyways.)

In comparison, check out the rpm drops for the jdm itr 4.785 tranny!
2.105 / 3.230 = 0.65170 or 64.170%
1.458 / 2.105 = 0.69264 or 69.264%
1.034 / 1.458 = 0.70919 or 70.919%
0.787 / 1.034 = 0.76112 or 76.112%

You will see that my tranny has yet an even closer 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear than the jdm ITR!!!!

EDIT: $BEST OFFER And that's a steal. Mainly because I spent 200 dollars on a dohc zc tranny that I did nothing with except pull the 3rd gear out of. And about 15 hours of research figuring out how to do this.

This is the tranny that I talked about here.

I personally know that you cannot build one for cheaper. Unless you buy parts from a theive/guy that desperately needs money that you lowball, etc.

LOTS OF TIME WENT INTO MAKING THIS THING. If you don't like the price, I welcome you to try to make one yourself. I even state how to do it on the above link. However I highly doubt that you can build this for any cheaper considering that hmotorsonline raised the price from 150 to 250 on these zc trannys (which they never have any in stock)

EDIT: I have already received 6 offers for this thing. And so far the highest bid is $550 shipped. I currently have a 0.750 5th gear in it, but I was planning on keeping it and putting a more common 0.702 5th gear in it. (which most would prefer the longer 5th gear for lower cruising rpms anyways) if for some reason you still want the 0.750 del sol si 5th gear instead of the 0.702, there will be an extra charge for this. The same goes with the 0.878 zc 5th gear. This raises the highway rpms to an equivalent of stock b16 5th gearing

stock b16 5th gearing = 4.4 (final drive) * (0.848) 5th gear = 3.7312
zc 5th with ex final = 4.25 (final drive) * (0.878) 5th gear = 3.7315

there are many advantages / disadvantages to whatever 5th gear that you choose. If you are unsure of which to choose from, feel free to PM me asking which. There also is the 88-91 dx/si 5th gear option of 0.771. However I don't have one of these 5th gear sets. If you have one that you'd like to mail me I will put it in at no additional cost. However the dx/si 5th gear is only 2.8% different from the 0.750 del sol si / hatchback si 5th gear. The graph shows all 4 gear options.

Note, some may mention the tall 0.694 crx hf 5th gear. But remember there is only a 0.008 difference in the 0.694 hf 5th gear and the 0.702 5th gear. That comes out to be a 1.1% difference. like 35-40rpm difference when at 80mph. This is not worth it being the difference is so minute. The only advantage that it would have is bragging rights. And even with that said the stock tach isn't acurate enough to show the difference, so you could use the 0.702 5th gear and lie about having a crx hf 5th gear and only you and me would ever know!!

I know that this is a lot of info. But as you can see I know what I am doing here and you should know exactly what goes into the transmission that you may be interesting in purchasing.

only thing I may be looking for is a used d-series jsrc, (tranny + cash)
jdm d15b shortblock (well all I really need is the crank)
d-series quaife lsd (like anyone has one)
and that's about it

I already have like 9 transmissions that I'm trying to get rid of

but thanks for the bump
