Would you rather have... (spring rate related)
Hey guys, its been a while.
Concerning the Civic 06-11 chassis, to which I am kind of new...I have these questions for you.
The constant are Koni Sport struts, a Progress rear bar, 2 camber bolt per side.
Which of these constraint would you rather drive on the track with:
1- Factory CG and geometry, 200F/230R linear rates, close to -2.0 front camber.
2- A CG lowered by approx. 2.3 inches, 320F/460R mostly linear rates, anything between -2.0 to -2.8 front camber.
I obviously think the 2nd proposition lowers the car too much, but I am trying to decide whether this lowering hampers the OE geometry performance so much to nullify the increased spring rates and front negative camber range gains.
Let me know what you would go for. Driving fun and lap times are of concern.
Thanks !

230 is too weak for the rear. The rear springs have a ton of leverage on them. The 320/460 springs sound better. Those are Nuespeed Sports right? 2.3 is a bit low, I had Eibach Pro Kit springs on my FA5 and they sat perfectly. I'd look into redshift motorsports coil overs. They're pricey but they're the best option for the 8th gen chassis IMO. GC makes some too but the Redshift coil overs are nicer.
Apparently Redshift coilovers have been discontinued and are being redesigned

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Honnestly, I am 90% positive that OEM coils with Koni shocks, much front neg camber and a big fat rear bar will be faster than over-lowering with Neuspeed race...then again, I don't have the data to back it up.
I may just try it out and share my experiences.
I am tried of blowing strut mounts...these 8th gens really have an important strut mount defect.
