What are you guys using for your front and rear tow hook/eyes? are you using a tow strap or the ferrari style? please show pictures

The bumper has seen its fair share of bumps and scrapes, so don't mind bumper. The car is a 98 Prelude. It's a track only car, so no need for turn signals. I haven't fabricated something for the rear, but I'll probably do something similar in the license plate box area.

Don't most people shy away from benen and others like benen because they stick out too far? If bump drafting you could possibly put a hole in their rear bumper.

any one else have ideas for a tow eye/hook?

That's exactly why mine is built the way it is. It's mounted directly to the bumper mounting bracket, so it's quite strong, and doesn't stick out past the bumper.

I have soft strap attached to one of the front tow hooks and zipped-tied to the bottom of the bumper. I was afraid that if I ever get towed, it would tear my bumper but it worked like a charm. However, it doesn't look as good as I would like.

How did you actually strap it onto the frame? Wrap around the bumper support?

The strap is wrapped around 1/2" worth of aluminum bars and bolted to the bumper support. There are some washers used to space the aluminum bars away from the bumper support so that the strap doesn't get crushed.

Mine is bolted underneath my bumper support beam. Right now it sticks out too far, but since there are three rows of holes, I am going to mount it back one more row. If that doesn't work, most likely go to some sort of soft strap technique.

I use a tow strap also. That way if you bump someone it does not puncture their rear bumper cover. By the way, per the SCCA rules any tow point must be at least 2" diameter. Many of those aftermarket tow eyes are less than 2" diameter.

But the hardparkers get some mad style points for them at car shows.

And I bet most of the kids who have tow hooks have never even heard of SCCA or NASA.

You may want to look into something more substantial or use some sort of strap configuration with a strong mounting point
