Re: Road Racing ??
Go read the stickies. then google using Honda-tech in your search thread.
We don't provide baseline anything here... everyone drives differently, and what works for one guy doesn't work for all.
Sounds like you are new to RR anyway, and since you might not have figured out your driving style what's the point in giving you any set up.
Your driving style will change many times until you figure out what makes you most confortable.
Search the "set up" threads, what you are looking for is out there.

Re: Road Racing ??
Thanks for the reply.I am scouring the posts for knowledge. Actually we have been road racing. Just in a 99 Miata. Tired of chasing Civics 2 litres. We out handle them but can't touch em off the corner & in a straight line. Thus the change. Bought this car in hopes of changing that. Have absolutely no fwd experience, set up or driving. Have no springs. All we know is car was run very heavily sprung with no front bar & high rate rear bar on 225/45/17s on 8.5" x 40 off wheels w/15mm front spacers. We have no idea of acceptable front to rear % or cross weights. We have to run car at 2718#.
Thanks again, Mike

Re: Road Racing ??
No front bar will make the car more rear twitchy, and if you are just new to Hondas that will make for a more difficult learning curve.
Id get a stock front bar for your model car to begin with.
Rear id stay with the stock SI for now.
Cruise the "set up" threads pull info from them.
Keep in mind you are probably one of two people I've seen on here that has a model civic newer than say a 2001.
Since you have some experience you will know what baselines you ran on a Miata.
Id start there, keep in mind you will end up trying several spring rates until you find your "balance" for your driving style.
Good Luck!

Re: Road Racing ??
Follow the link and read the article several times. this is what a winning FWD car is like. If you take notes, as you read through the artical, you will end up with not just a basic set, but a "winning FWD set up".

Watch the same driver does his stuff in this video and you will understand why a FWD Honda kicks ***... Sorry for the language.
