Default Oil temp and pressure gauge options

Cause I'm tracking more and more now looking for opinions on good gauges.

I know the Defi are nice but damn they are expensive. i'm looking at Autometer right now but any other options?

Thanks

Jegs and Summit sell decent gauges that wont break the bank.

Last year made the change to AEM and i like them better than anything i've used in the past. (Greddy, Autometer) Their customer support is great too.

I have my eye on the SPA dual gauge for oil temp/pressure. Kinda pricey but saves buying and mounting two separate gauges. Also has an alarm function and peak recall.

When I was researching gauges it seemed like the AccuTech SMi gauges were well liked and provided a lot of bang for your buck. You won't get cool JDM bling points though Defi seems overpriced for no good reason. I used to use Autometer and never had a problem with their products. I almost went with AEM but decided on Stack since there was a mail in rebate when I was ready to buy. So far I like 'em but have been so busy and the car is basically on hiatus so I haven't setup any of the fancy features yet

I love my VDO drainpan bolt temp sender. Been using it for years and I'm getting temps from the pan which is my preferred location because them I'm getting readings after it's done all it's work and before it gets pumped through the oil cooler and back into the engine.

I use this gauge:

It's been working great. I have been using it since 2003.

AutoMeter here. They work exactly how gauges should I did add a Longacre 50psi warning light and alarm so I don't have to pay too much attention when on the track.

Trail Tech || TTO Temperature

My favorite temp guage. Easy to read, small, simple. And only $40!

What route is easier than a temp sender that replaced the oil pan drain plug?

Why would changing oil suck? It's just an oil pan drain bolt that's also the sender. Just slide the connector off, change oil.

I really like the drain sensor, however I run magnetic drain plug already and prefer to have that instead. I do need to change my oil pan gasket soon, maybe jjust have a bung welded when I do.

Aren't all oil drain plugs magnetic? The stock one on my Civic is.

I don't see the point in magnetic drain plugs for the engine oil pan because..

A: Oil filter
B: Metal wear in an engine often is from non-magnetic bits (bearings).
C: By the point a weak magnet (like that of a drainplug) catches anything of any consequence it's already time for a rebuild.

However, if you're still horny about magnets for your engine then you should be ditching the drain plug magnet anyway and getting the high-temp, high strength neodymium magnets that would surround the oil filter.

That's because it's a VDO sender. So you're gonna need a VDO gauge. Also part of the reason why I listed the sender and the VDO gauge together. I was trying to be helpful.
