Damn dude, that SC period really showed the indecisiveness(w/ tires) AGAIN between team and driver during crucial points of the race.
In my mind there was no choice. On that track and with how well the tires had been lasting there is no way I'm pitting unless I have a puncture.

Even if Ros and Vet had pitted for super soft there was no way they were getting around Hamilton. Ham is the best of those 3 and with new super softs he couldn't get a sniff of Seb. His race craft is easily better than Ros and I have no doubt in my mind Ham would have held him off.

Mercedes tire strategy since Malaysia has been to follow what Ferrari is doing. This is what happens when they try to think for themselves.

Was really hoping Ricciardo could sneak onto the podium at the end there. Very cool of Red Bull to give the spot back to Kvyat after the strategy didn't work out.

So it WAS Lewie's call! HA!

Which makes the "we win and lose as a team" line hilarious now!

Poor guy. Had that in the bag...but I can't say I wasn't delighted to see him come out in P3.

Yup... I suck at the predictions too... it's a little fun, but it changes the race watching cause you're rooting for your picks for max points.... Not doing it again next year, even though I gained 1 place this week...

Werd... At a point early in the race Ham's radio transmission was something along the lines of is everyone else's tire deg the same/similar cause his tires feel great (round lap 30)... plus didn't he do more than 30 laps on his first set which was super softs, he would've easily finished in P1 if he stayed on the 2nd set (softs, I believe).

Yup, up until Super Max binned Gross Jeans it was a boring race as usual... the last 10 laps or so woke me up a little.

Speaking of Coulthard, right before the race did anyone catch the NBC clip about #2 drivers? DC was featured front & center.

I was flipping back and forth, and I re-noticed that the Unimas broadcast has the track volume much higher than NBC, you can hear the cars much better. NBC sucks, I bet they didn't run commercials during the Brit league futbol games.

i gotta go easy on Merc for this one, it was the first time for the virtual safety car and it makes sense that they thought they had the margin under the VSC because they did, then ROS and VET gained time behind the old-tech actual safety car.

i would have done the same as they did: pit with margin to cover VET possibly pitting for fresh cucumbers also.

Yah, I'm sure the VSC/SC issue had it's effects. The VSC was on for mere seconds before they switched it to SC... later they showed a replay that Ham's got stuck behind the SC right when he was going to pit... fer sure that slowed him down too, he lost a few seconds there, probably the ones he needed to retain his lead.

His radio transmission about "we lost the race, haven't we" was a bit sad...
Quite a few radio transmissions were sad as well (the ones about them not being able to follow close enough, cause of dirty air)... of course it's Monaco, and it's nearly impossible to overtake, but these extra sensitive front wings & tires are killing it even more.

Here's a funny radio transmission though.

I did fantasy NASCAR 1 year with some friends and that sucked too lol. I won the league but having to root for drivers I can't stand is annoying.

Did fantasy hockey for several years too. Same story. Having to root against my favorite team at times cause I needed a shutout from my goalie or needed my opponent's goalie to lose was fucked up lol.

Kimi had a few funny radio msgs. The "Ric that wasn't very nice" one made me chuckle.

Ahahaha... yah that Ric "wasn't very nice" was a funny one... I guess Kimi won't share his ice cream with Danny boy. I was shocked at the RB's this week.. they looked good, and Max would've gotten points if it wasn't for his botched pitstop, and then his desperation dive in to Romain lettuce.

I also wonder what was up with Ham pulling off to the side (was that by Portier?), and then he crashed in to the #3 sign.

You know rita outscored us all and he hasn't made a pick since Australia.. lulz.

NOPE. Ferrari wasn't even in the pitlane. They didn't have to do anything. Ferrari wasn't a threat to pit. Man. the Hami rage brings me many joys. Just so damn funny/entertaining.
