Re: The Official Formula 1 2015 Season Thread
Her GC8 is the reason we started talking lol.
I asked her if she knew the rally history of the car and showed her a SCC article with a 22B. She always liked cars but no one ever taught her how to do stuff. She helps me with my cars from time to time so she can learn and also reads stuff online in her limited free time.
I told her I wanted to build a detached garage with a shop, her response was along the lines of will it have a lift? Yes, I am very lucky.

LOL I will admit I have gotten my wife with the old muffler bearing trick once (although they are actually real just not on her car).
Have a feeling she wouldn't fall for any of the other car joke parts and certainly not the muffler bearing again lol.
Oh yeah and this past Sat while my dumb *** was at work she took her violin instructor to a local auto-x event.

Manor Formula 1 team will make it to Australian Grand Prix
Manor has confirmed that its Formula 1 car is ready to race at the Australian Grand Prix.
The British-based outfit - revived from the defunct Marussia team - said the final hurdles have been overcome and its 2015 challenger is being finalised for the flight to Melbourne later this week.
Sporting director Graeme Lowdon said: "At certain times over the last six months it was not completely clear we would get to this point.
"I'm very excited to announce that thanks to a lot of hard work from an awful lot of people we are ready to go racing again.
"The last few months have been a rollercoaster - and I want to say particular thanks to the fans."
Manor will start the season with an interim car, modified to fulfil the 2015 regulations, before a bespoke design is introduced later in the campaign.
The team has confirmed that energy boss Stephen Fitzpatrick is the investor behind the effort, with former Sainsbury's CEO Justin King appointed as interim team chairman.
Lowdon admitted that final crash tests still had to be passed later this week.
"Crash tests are ongoing - we block-booked some space at the laboratory to do the crash test this week, so I think the preparation day is today, and then tests will start," he explained.
"There are only a very small number of tests to be done, a push off and an impact test. We will just have to see how those tests progress.
"The timescale to prepare the car has been incredibly short, but there is a bit of time capacity in there so hopefully things will go well this year.
"The car is being prepared in Dinnington, the overall car is on schedule and main freight dispatch is Friday and we will be sending bits right up until the last minute."
Will Stevens will drive one of the Manor entries in 2015, with the second driver yet to be announced.

Are you not excited for the Kimi vs Vettel battle that everyone was hoping to see at RBR in 2014? I guess it's lost a bit of its luster as both of them got smoked last year by their teammates.
I like to wear a tinfoil hat and think that RBR hosed Vettel last year since he was getting booed too much. RBR is no slouch in the marketing department, and they seem to have hit a homerun with the honey badger.

Paraphrasing, as some words are different and I don't care that much.
1) Alonso on the exit on T3. You can see his glove is almost completely exposed (insinuating lots of input, duh).
2) The hit on the wall. He's coming in parallel with the wall, but hits rear first to snap the car.
3) Continues along the wall.
4) Second impact
5) ...
6) The car finally stops.
They also show the difference with JB's steering inputs in the same corner a week later. MUCH less input obviously.

So we can surmise that Alonso hit the wall on purpose. Either trying to knock some powah or reliability into the McHonda or trying to knock some sense into himself. Poor guy seems like he is snake bit ever since crashgate...

Not gonna lie, if the Ferrari is good (and I believe it will be, because I believe in James Allison), I'm going to rage. Ferrari (to me) will always be Schu's team, and I had to suck it up when Fred was there (and they sucked *****). \

Interesting bit about the new RB rear wing
Bite Size Tech: Red Bull Racing RB11 rear wing leading edge endplate slots - final pre-season test - SomersF1 - The technical side of Formula One
Bite Size Tech: Red Bull Racing RB11 rear wing leading edge endplate slots - final pre-season test - SomersF1 - The technical side of Formula One
Downforce usually comes with the compromise of drag, however, as the leading edge slot on the RB11 now forms the upper louvre, we must also consider that it's also designed to reduce drag. On the right is what I normally expect to see as the pressure gradients meet. A tightly wound vortex is shed from the the juncture between the mainplane/top flap and the endplate, with the louvres used to control how the vortex rolls up. This is the compromise between downforce and drag and why we see the teams change the louvres, slots etc dependent on the circuit they're at, the angle of attack and/or design of the mainplane/top flap.
From images I saw on Saturday (illustrated above, left,) it would appear as speed builds the way the vortex rolls has changed, with a much less tightly wound vortex present. With the airflow becoming destructive to both the upper and lower surfaces of the mainplane/top flap, causing separation. This may give it the potential to stall the outer sections of the mainplane and top flap, reducing drag and increasing top speed, in much the same way we saw teams use the F-Duct and DRD. You may question how this helps at the wing tip when previously we have seen team 'stall' their wings from a more central point, but we must remember the exhaust plume now also plays its own role in the airflow structures at hand.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2015 Season Thread
I feel the same way about Ferarri and TBH I think I am glad that Alonso didn't win a title with them. A solid argument can be made that Massa would have won the championship if not for the 2008 Singapore Shenanigans. Whether Alonso was directly involved can never be truly known (unless he admits it) but he was close enough to get dirty from it.

Tell me how NPJ binning it DIRECTLY relates to Massa pulling out on the pits with the fuel hose still attached? Hell, even indirectly. Massa had a chance to win the title because he was gifted a Spa win he had no business having on his CV (for the Euro types). Yes, Hamilton deserved some penalty for "the advantage gained" in Spa, but promoting Massa to the top step was not it, clearly.
Sorry, but Massa's griping about 2008 falls on deaf ears here. Actually, his gripes in general fall on deaf ears. He always points the finger (ala KMag, Checo, etc), but he is the common denominator in those events. He never accepts any accountability, and that just gets old.

Hami forgets how he said he would rather race for the tittle than be like Seb. Short term memory and bullshitting at its finest. Everyone would prefer to dominate.
Now he just needs to find some strange and he'll be good.

I didn't say I was defending Massa. He's a whiny little runt in my book. I agree about the fuel hose but I think Ferrari would have been more composed during the stop if they had been in control of the race instead of trying to claw their way back in it. We'll never know so we can argue that til the cows come home. The Spa mess was unfortunate and I agree that the penalty was a bit harsh but what other option is there? Maybe penalize him grid spots at the next GP? That would have been Monza. Lets say instead Ham ends up out of the points due to a sane ruling.
Some assumptions have to be made(no crashgate and minus stupid Spa ruling but adding grid penalty for Monza). You won't like them all but...
Massa 10 pts at Singapore +10
Hamilton 8 points at Singapore +2
Massa 8 points at Spa -2
Hamilton 10 points at Spa +4
Massa 3 points at Monza no change
Hamilton 0 points -2
Total:
Massa gains 8 points
Hamilton gains 4 points
Granted if the Ferrari pit stop derp still happens then this goes out the window and Massa is 2nd in WDC. We all know Massa gets to bitching and can't concentrate on driving so he would have had no chance to come back from that doe his time lost on pit road would probably have been less if the stop had been under green.
Either way I think Alonso is somewhat tainted because of that scandal. Even if he had no knowledge of it, which I tend to doubt.
