shock/spring weights
I asked this in another forum, but it doesnt seem if anybody seems to know.
[Does anyone have the weights for the stock suspension? (Shock + Spring)
Also, interested in knowing the weights for aftermarket suspensions(especially the alumium ones), so if you have weighed your shocks/springs please post them. thanks]
I am looking for a replacement for my GC/bilstein setup and going for some weight reduction in my suspension/tire/wheel/brakes- less unsprung weight. I did not weigh my stock suspension before I sold them and I am curious to the weights of stock and the others. thanks.

Re: shock/spring weights (t)
if you are looking to reduce your unsprung weight, I would look into the contol arms first. You won't save much weight with lightweight springs/shocks.
I'm sure you have allready thought of lighter tires and wheels too right?

Re: shock/spring weights (t)
Best way to reduce unsprung weight of shocks is to invert them (where the piston rod end is attached to the control arm). That basically takes most of the shocks weight away from the unsprung category. Doing this is often a custom fab job though, and should probably only be done on a dedicated race car. Other than that the only way to reduce unsprung weight would be lighter unsprung things besides the shocks/springs....
