How does one get to drive laps at VIR?
I want to give wifey a few speed laps for her birthday if I can. Do you have to be a member of a club or something?

You typically sign up for HPDE from whoever hosts events.
A quick google search of "HPDE VIR"
first result: https://www.trackdaze.com/

You find a club, NASA or porsche club of america that is doing an HPDE there and enter the novice group. 350+ or so for two days maybe?

4 hours is more than enough. That a **** ton of time on track. You will need some good rotors and definitely track pads and fluid. Normal pads will cook on that track.

You get the full 3.2 mile track if that makes a difference. I don't mind paying that, I just want to make sure it's a good deal.

trackdaze is a good group to run with. i like the events they host and they have the best price/seat time around.

My brembos aren't good enough? Rotors were already in the plan. Seems strange to have big brakes on regular rotors.
Tires will go on too. The Pirellis suck on the street, can't imagine how dangerous they would be on the track.

Why would you want to take a slower and less powerful car?
240ish HP, LSD 6 speed manual, Brembo brakes, bigger swaybars... I can't see a reason not to take it?

I'm going to get two participant passes. If it's anything like riding trails in the Jeep, she's going to be thrilled just riding shotgun. It'll probably be difficult to get her to drive one lap.

That's why I sold my CRX. I realized I was building a car that a 4 door grocery getter would still outrun.

a 100hp miata or crx would run circles around a TL on track. Never mind the fun factor would be 4x higher.
