Gringotegra's running log... Confused drag car on the road course!
I decided to make a running log of track days i do and the things i change on the car over the year...
I ended up ending last year with the car on some shitty Stock shocks with some cheap ebay coilovers on some 225/45/15 R1R tires.
I was able to get the car to run a 1:33 around my local track (Portland International Raceway). Which for how much power the car makes isn't impressive lol... For reference a stock C6 Z06 with a seasoned driver on R comp tires runs 1:26's around PIR.
Things that are changing this year:
Went from these:
To these:
AMR Engineering 8 way adjustable coilovers with 850/950 spring rates.
And some of these from AMR also:
My first track day this year was yesterday at a track called The Ridge. Pretty much the coolest and most technical track up here in the NW (from what i have been told). The suspension felt 10291083 times better than the crap i've had on all these years lol...
I ran yesterday with NO rear sway bar. The first session i ran all the coilovers on setting 0 (Soft). Second i ran front and rear @ setting 5. The rear was almost too stiff here, so i backed it down to 3 in the rear.
I have been really happy with them, the car feels so much better on the street. And every click seriously can be felt.
Surprisingly the car rotated very well for having no sway bar.
Since i already had one, i threw this on today and hope to take it to the next track day in a few weeks.
It's a 24mm i think, honestly not sure. Its adjustable though.
Once i get the upper control arms on the car, i plan to get it aligned. There are a few local shops that have good track records with aligning cars. I happened to find one that has done quite a few Hondas, so thats a plus.
The Hondata traction control is also on my list of things i want and hope to have here real soon. Once i get that i will be able to give you guys a good third party review on how well it works and how easy it is to use..
Anyway im off for the night and if anyone has any questions let me know!

"Confused drag car on road course" lol I thought I was silly for wanting to convert to a road course car (bored with drag racing now). What class do you compete in and what kinda cars are you up against?

Awesome setup, good luck! What differential do you run that 710whp through? I bet it's tough getting anything other than slicks to hookup.

Quick motor breakdown
Sleeved 84mm GSR
10.5:1 JE pistons
Eagle rods
Supertech Valve springs/Retainers
Ferrea 6000 IN/EX valves
Ferrea Keepers
B16 head
GSC Power-Division Turbo Cams
Victor X intake mani
Stock TB
FIC 2150's
Stock sumped fuel tank
Twin 255's inline
ETS Forward Facing Turbo manifold
ETS 4x12x24" intercooler
Precision 6262, T3 .82A/R
The car made 710whp@30psi on E98.
I run the car at about 440whp which is 11psi (Lowest it will go)
I really like the R1R's but don't think i will get them again since they are expensive. I got these ones used from a friend for $150 for the set and have been able to do 4 track days on them! I have 225's all around, i want to keep them 225's!

Wow that's awesome!! I would love to see this run in person (drag or road race) at pir. How many tracks do you run up in the nw for road races?

Trust me man, i wish i could buy an ITA car but it's just not in the budget for me ..
On another note, the Ridge was badass this past weekend. I need to go there again! I need you to ride with me and show me the track!
I have only been to the Ridge and PIR as track days so far. I plan to make it to Pacific and ORP this year hopefully.

Either Rhom Innovations or Adreneline Racing in Portland.
Yeah we war to do a chump car team for sure. It just takes a good amount of money in te Begining and a lot of time. We will eventually though.

You were running those crusty shocks and springs on the strip?! GL with your dual purpose machine, I plan on doing the same myself and having it as a DD.

Well I'm sure you'll be faster at the strip as well as the course now. Would you mind letting me know here or through PM what those AMRs costed you? I'm considering a set come mid Spring/early Summer.

Yeah I do expect to go a good amount faster this year. I hope to run a 9, hopefully!
As far as the coilovers they are $1400 I think new. I didn't pay that much but I wasn't far off from there.

Personally I'm just looking forward to driving my car this year, here you are talking about 9s -_-
Thanks for the info on the coilovers, some people are funny about giving out prices on here for whatever reason. They definitely seem top notch so I'll have to decide if it's worth 2 weeks pay, going to do a full suspension overhaul most likely and dump some money into body work this year for sure.
