205 vs 225 on 15x7 / 15x8 / 15x9 got EF hatch for ST / SMF + minimal roll and pull
I need to get this all down on paper so I can organize my thoughts...
This is for ST or SMF guys, since they probably have the most experience with these sizes:
I'm running my alternate car in SMF while the main one gets some work done.
I have 225/45/15 fronts and 195/50/15 rears.
Here are the wheel options that I have:
15x9 et+35
15x8 et+25
15x6.5 et+38
Now I'm on short notice for this weekends event, so the less rolling and pulling I have to do, the better.
I have an extra set of front fenders I can hack up, but the rears will likely be an issue if I go with anything other than the 15x6.5's there.
I'm leaning toward using the 15x9's up front with the 225's, and a small spacer to clear the knuckle. (How big a spacer? 3mm?)
And in the rear, the 15x6.5's are probably the safe bet with the 195's and no spacer.
I really would like to use 15x8's in the rear, but the offset is too stanceboi streetsweeper for my liking.
Will I need a roll in the rear with 15x6.5 et +38 and 195/50/15?

With just over -3* of camber, I was able to clear 15x9 +36 with an 8mm spacer with only a roll and hand pull with 225/45 Hoosiers up front and 205/50's on an 8" +36 wheel on the back with about -2* rear camber. Street tires would be a whole lot easier to clear. The narrower the wheel the less unsprung weight.

I'm a little late to the party but I ran 225/45 Rivals on a 15x9 ET36 with a ~7mm spacer (IIRC). Clearance was super, duper tight from the wheel lip to the upright though. Camber was in the ~4* range.
For the rear, I had 205/50 Rivals on a 15x7.5. I don't recall the offset but they were the "typical" Honda/Miata wheels from TireRack (TRM branded). My rear fenders were lightly rolled. Camber was ~2* I think.

Thanks.
I ended up going with 15x6.5 +38 all around because I didn't want to miss the event or cut a tire due to **** offsets or poor planning / rolling.
It performed surprisingly well - if vague up front.
I have one event this coming Sunday, and then a month before another event.
I may try to swap to the wider wheels at some point - depending on laziness.
