Initial tear down and inspection of the H23A. We'll be doing a lot of maintenance, as well as some internal / external upgrades. stay tuned

the H23 is nearly all the way down!

Pulled the head, removed the retainers/keepers, valve springs & valves. Just need to remove the rocker arm assembly. Headgasket was still in good shape, no missing material or gaps.
The block still needs to be disassembled....ugh! Engine builds are definitely time consuming.

H23 head removed - block

Head with valvetrain

valves no more!

Congrats on the work you've done so far! I've been thinking about a 1st gen Odyssey if I can sell my sedan, as a daily with with a drop, wheels and some Mugen bits... Would be a lot more convenient to haul our stuff around as well
