When should you get a tune up? 2001 Honda Accord

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your advice. This is a good site. It's good that we can come here and exchange info. But anyways, when should I get a tune up on my car? It's at 70k now. It's a 2001 Honda ACcord EX. THanks

It varies, did you get the 30k tune up?

I think the next is 60k, every 30,000 mi intervals...

Don't you have an owners manual that came with your car?

All the info is in there.

What all does a tune up consist of. I don't have an owners manual and as far as I know my car has never had a tune up. I keep everything changed out and so on and so forth but is there anything extra I should know about?

When should the manual transaxle fluid me changed BTW?

Hey, I have a 2000 accord and the manual open to page 192, the maintenance section right now, They have a chart of how often you should do maintenance, theres alot here, and I dont have alot of time so ill take a closer look later

Heres a list of everything in here which I suppose the check at a tune up

-engine oil
-cooling system
-windsheild washers
-transmission fluid and system
-brake and cluch fluid and systems
-power steering
-air cleaner element
-spark plugs
-battery
-air conditioning system and filter
-drive and timing belts
-tires
-lights

idk out of that what they actually check and what they dont, and what they check that isnt there, like i said ill post again later

hey dude you shoudl always try to keep you car up to speed on the basics..the guy before me gave a good list (nice).you can always check most of those things as often as you want...but you timing belt is probably most important..i think the OEM betls are to be changed every 90k. do not go past that!! it might be 80k. i think your feul filter and spark plugs are 30K...check you manual..if you don't have one for the car check on ebay..you can get the for about $5

No man, according to the 2002 civic manual, sparkies must be changed at around 150 000 km...

In fuel injected engines, running properly, spark plugs can last quite a long time...
Hell, even in carbed engines, sparkies could last 90 000 km or so..

Ummm... MILES in USA. and why use the last gen civic manual as a resource for 6 gen accord maintenance guide?

Check your plugs and oil color and change when it looks like it should be changed. Do the rest - belts/wires/radi/tranny when it says to. Fuel filter and plugs at 30 sounds about right.

I'm hoping it had one at 30k. I bought it at 46k. I think I'll get one just to be on the safe side. The only thing I need is mostly spark plugs changed because I get oil changes and i'm not due for transmission flush until another 10k. But I could use one since i'm always driving. Thanks
