Anyone knows right way to take out factory radio Civic '04

Hey guys!

Does anyone knows where I could find a tutorial with pics on how to take out the factory radio and the center console on a civic '04??

Thanks

Remove shifter trim, [unsnaps by pulling up] very tight. remove 2 screws just in front of shifter on left and right top of consol, remove upper consol trim, [this is the section with power outlet and 2 switchs or dummy plugs ] it is 2 parts, one has the power plug and switchs/dummy plugs, and the other is the trim that the first part is mounted in, they come out as one part, start by unsnaping the trim on the left and right and just behind shifter, [2 very thin strips] start at back and move up to where you removed the screws,[ they unsnap out to the sides] then unsnap the whole upper consol trim by pulling back towards rear of car.

You now have acceses to 2- 8mm machine screws [ kind of offset to the pass.side ] remove them, [now this is the hard part] useing your hand from under and behind were you removed the 2- 8mm screws you are going to force out the the radio/heater houseing [all one part] you will feel the brace that the 2-8mm screws went into, it sits a little farther back then the plate that the screws go through,[again very tight] after you unsnap the bottom ,you can unsnap the rest of the houseing, [still very tight] once houseing is unsnapped , unplug radio and heater harnesses [ best done with 2 people, one holding houseing, one unpluging] take care not to let metal support bracketing at back of houseing damage the dash,[the metal can have sharp edges] for that matter watch your fingers.

I hope I have made this clear enough. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif 94
