i dont know if it is possible to install an amp on a stock honda head unit. you need RCA outputs.

Yep you will need an aftermarket HeadUnit. The Honda stock isnt that powerful anyway to even it if did have correct RCA outputs it wouldnt sound as good as a $100 aftermarket headunit. May I recommend this particiular player: JVC KDF401
http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPC-..._Unit $100 US for mp3 playback. Awesome deck (i own one https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif ) |

You will need a line level adpt., it will step down the speaker output to a RCA level, or get an amp that has speaker level inputs, there a lot of them.
hope this helps. 94 |

Re: how to install amp and sub to honda accord 2000 se (khoi1972)
To start off, you need a Hi-lo converter. This uses speaker connections to provide you with a pair of RCA connections. You can snatch one at your local Best Buy car audio department. The cost is 22.99.You can remove the factory stereo and use the speaker leads off of the main harness.
Then, Run your RCA cables along with your remote wire. the remote wire should be provided with the wire kit you puchase. If not, you need a wire that is about 18-16 GA thick, and can run from the radio of your vehicle to the amp (where ever u place it.) Connect that to either the ignition wire or power antennna connection of the car. The rest is simple. Run the power wire with the fuse into the car, of course making sure the side with the fuse is closest to the battery. You should find a spot to run it on the passenger side floorboard or through the wiring harness that runs from your engine and into the car. Ground the "Ground" wire to a bare metal surface closest to the amp. You choose your spot mount amp..... |
