Symptoms of a bad flywheel???
 

I'm starting to feel some weird stuff when I drive around. Maybe bad flywheel? I'm not sure..
So here goes...

1. When I give it moderate gas (especially when it's cold) through 1st through 3rd, it feels like the clutch is slipping...like the car kinda jerks...not very consistent/smooth even though the gas is at at the same spot.. Understand what I'm saying??

2. Feels like I have a 4-puck. I've driven other cars with the same exact clutch that I have..and it feels nothing like my car. When I start off in their cars, it's all smooth. In mine, feels like it's slippig a little. But the clutch still grabs like it was new. Also, reverse is hard to accomplish smoothly. I have to rev it up to 3k before it become somewhat smooth.

Not sure what's up. Hopefully those last two things made some sense. Let me know if you need anything else.

Do you have any chattering noise? My flywheel wore out of spec., and it felt like a slipping clutch, so I order a clutch and the disc turns out to be good, then I focused my attention to the flywheel, sure enough, it was way out of spec.

yeah...a slight one. Especially when it's in reverse.

First make sure all of your hydraulic stuff for your tranny is good. If thats not it, sounds to me like a flywheel that has some heat spots. Only way to tell is to take the trans off.

Hi, I have a manual Civic EP2 with almost 300K on it. I bought it second hand (100K) and after a while I realised that something was bad:
1st gear, throttle to rpm 2500, 3000 or more, release throttle, the car start loosing the normal inertia then it shakes while the rpm are normally dropping. The shaking starts at around 2000rpm I need to control and eliminate the shakes by pushing the clutch pedal in order to harmonise it. It does the same when in 2nd gear. With time there is a degradation of these signs as it slightly shakes even when driving in 5th gear at 3500 or 4000 rpm. Just release the throttle and the car shakes a little. I don't have other issues like smelling, noises or electric issues. Could it be a bad Dual mass flywheel ?
