Primary oxygen sensor heater
Hi,
My honda accord, 1999 sport, vreg is giving off the fault code 41 which is - Primary oxygen sensor heater. How could i resolve this? I have changed my oxygen sensor new one but still troubles. Does it need a new relay or a new curcuit or wires checked? Cheers |
Re: Primary oxygen sensor heater (samvtecaccordsport)
ok, normally when it throws a 41 its just the o2 sensor if your lucky, check your voltage on while the engine is running from cold start, voltage should be at .1-.2V, after a period of about 2 min or so it should go into closed loop and read .1-.9 volts, if it dont then its ur o2 sensor, or you might just try unpluggin the battery for a couple minutes 2 reset the ecm, that is since you say you put in a new o2 sensor

Re: Primary oxygen sensor heater (acaccord04)
Actually, his code is for the 'heater' cicuit of the O2 sensor, not the output.
If he replaced the O2 and wired it correctly he shouldn't have a CEL anymore. But yes, the ECU should be reset and then see what happens. If he still gets the code 41, I would suggest measuring the voltage of the heater circuit on a cold engine at the O2 sensor. |
Re: Primary oxygen sensor heater (Perfectionist)
The car measured no voltage at all on the heater wires.
Why is this? How can i resolve this? Regards |

Re: Primary oxygen sensor heater (samvtecaccordsport)
are you running stock headers? alot of time when you get a set of 4-2-1 headers it only has one o2 plugg next to the cat. if so youll have to get ur ecu chipped to bypass the first o2 sensor. i had the smae prob. for 3 months
