Possible causes for the SRS light to turn on?

My SRS light wont go out! I havent messed with anything related to the system, so its not user error. It came on a month ago, but went out shortly after. Now its on again, but its been on for a few weeks without going out. I disconnected the battery for 15 mins but that didnt help. Could there be a possible short in the wiring, or are there parts that actually go bad in this system?

BTW: 1997 Honda Civic EX

reseting ecu doesn't clear srs codes you'll probably have to take it to the dealership to get the code read by a technician and have it cleared... it shouldn't cost you anything if you take it to a honda or acura dealer...
