Crankshaft Sensor problems! (p1336/p1337)

Hey guys my car is throwing a few codes...
P1336 - Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor Intermittant Interruption
P1337- Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor No Signal

The thing is, my car is driving fine...well execpt for a idle problem i need to fix. Anyone know whats going on? Is the sensor bad? if so how come it drives normal? I've done a search and most people said distributor, because of the Crankshaft Position Sensor being in the distributor...but when people change them out it does them no good...Has anyone had this problem? Its a 1999 Civic EX...D16Y8, thanks for your help in advance? If the sensor is bad or needs to be replaced is it a pricey part? Oh, I have reset the ECU about 100 times and nothing changes, i start up the car and them boom a CEL...I have driven a few thousnd miles like this and its effected nothing, but in order for vtec to kick it the CEL needs to be off correct? I hear it throws the car in lint mode? But I havent noiced a difference execpt for vtec won't kick it....
thanks for your help

you cant change that sensor, you have to get a new dizzy or swap th internals with a working one

So you think that may throw a misfire code every now and then?
Anyone have a D16Y8 dizzy for sale?

Make sure that its the crank sensor(in the dist) and not the crankcase fluctuation sensor(on the crank gear) with the problems. There is a difference. HTH

Yeha, thats a problem people have been running into as wel...
Most people w/ the sensor on the crank cant rev over 3500rpms correct?
thats what i gather from searching

P1336 & 1337 are the fluctuation sensor, located at the crank. I think it just uses that sensor to help detect misfiring, it's not REALLY needed for the engine to run.

Have the same problem with '97 Civic LX (P-1336). Which sensor should I replace? Will that affecting performance or gas mileage or else? Need you suggestion if the replacement is really needed... Thanks!
