JDM Integra Question

I have a 1997 jdm integra type r, isn't my vtec supposed to kick in at 5400rpm or is that just for the 98 spec? currently it kicks in at 6k just like the usdm.

Re: JDM Integra Question (ssacol)

There is nothing wrong with your car. All R's engage vtec at the same time unless you modified it. I don't know where you got the 5400 from.

did you used to drive a Lude? 5400 is low for normal vtec engagement.

6k is normal.

? Maybe as indicated on the inaccurate stock tach.

Re: JDM Integra Question (ssacol)

5700rpm is the stock engagement point for a Type-R... but many ITR tachs are known to play it safe and is probably overstating your revs by a touch... so you're fine.
