how to tell if fuel pump is going out?

Does it make any kind of wierd noises or anything if the fuel pump is on its way out?

I'm hearing a high pitched whine/hiss from mine, almost like alternator noise (I don't have any interior behind my front seats at the moment). Is this normal or should I be concerned?

with no rear seats and a stock exhaust, you can easily hear the fuel pump. Its fine.

there's a test you can do. I dont know the specifics for it but basically you take the fuel line and put a cup to it and measure the flow. For n seconds there should be x volume of fuel. If you are less than normal specs (look it up in a manual) then you know your pump isnt performing how it should be.

... measure the flow...
You can also measure the pressure - usually that's a test for the FPR, but if the pump can't keep the pressure high enough, you'll see that.

well I put my interior back in and I don't hear anything now. I guess it was normal.
