Is the RedLine oil good for Honda engines???
What would you prefer: Mobil 1 5W-50 or somekind of Redline oil???
Any good/bad experience with RedLine motor oil??? The car is Honda CRX 1.6-16V DOHC. |

Really, both are good brands. You have to think about it this way: you're going to throw it away in roughly 3,000 miles right? Either will do the trick, get what you can get the better deal on. I know Redline is kind of expensive.
In my Integra, I just use Castrol GTX 10W-30. It works fine for me, since I don't want to drop the cash on something I will throw away in a month. (I put about 3,000 miles a month on my car.) Maybe if I rebuild the B18B one day, I will run synthetic, but until then, I can't justify the switch from regular to synthetic. That's just me though. [Modified by 4doorRS5spd, 2:47 PM 11/30/2002] |

I don't think he's talking about tranny fluid, but that is needless to say. Motor oil in a tranny is bad. You need to use either the redline MTF, or the one that I prefer, the Genuine Honda MTF.
