Y8 to Z6 transmission swap

I have a 95 Civic Ex coupe, with a D16Y8 (Automatic) right now. I want to swap the transmission with a Z6 manual transmission. I already have the transmission, a F1 stage 2 clutch kit, a clutch line, and a clutch pedal assembly kit.
I was wondering what other parts would I need to make the swap?
What complications can be expected when doing the swap?
Also what is a reasonable price from a mechanic to do the swap, and how long would it take to complete it?

D16Y8 in a 95 civic, did someone do a motor swap? As for the conversion, you will need both clutch cylinders (master, slave), a manual transmission mount (may need modification), passenger and maybe drivers side cv joint, shift assembly, and if you clutch kit didn't come with a fly wheel you will need that as well.

I was told the flywheel and transmission mount would not need to be changed and the Y8 and Z6 axles are the same, do you think that information is wrong? I have the clutch cylinders and shift assembly.

Re: Y8 to Z6 transmission swap

The auto axels are different and so is the flywheel at least on an auto Z6.

That is completely false about the AT and MT axles being different

Only difference would be if it was ABS and the only difference there is the ABS ring on the outer knuckle.

AT do not have flywheel's, they have a driveplate, so no you will not be able to reuse it. Also you will need to get different bolts to mount the flywheel, since AT bolts are shorter, plus pressure plate to flywheel mounting bolts.

I stand corrected. The abs ring is the difference I noticed between the axels that came out of the auto ex I got my engine from and my dx axels. Didnt realize the difference was because of abs.

^Not trying to bust your balls, just trying to clear up some of the misinformation.

OP, you need to check the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum.

No offense taken, I appreciate it in fact. I certainly dont want to spread bad info. Typically I dont post on threads like this because I am still learning myself but since I just did this swap and there was a difference in the axels I thought I would post. I just assumed the difference was because of the auto tranny and didnt think about the abs.
