2005 Honda Element Wont start
I paid 700 to get my element fixed and a new starter was put in as well as a replacement battery. It has been an intermittant problem but eventually just quit completely. Spent the 700 and it worked off and on still, starting most of the time but dragged for a couple seconds before starting. I bought an ignition switch replacement and just put that in. It still won't start. Dash lights come on, but it wont start. Ideas???? Can I bypass the ignition assembly and touch the neutral safety switch wires together and see if it will start?

Re: 2005 Honda Element Wont start
You can use a remote starter switch, directly from the battery to the small one pin connector on the starter. This will bypass everything and tell you if the starter is ok, provided your battery is good and properly charged. Did you get a Honda remanafactured starter? Check the power connections from the under hood fuse box, they are the screwed in connectors. Make sure the screws are not loose. If its a manual trans, check the clutch switch. If its an auto trans, shift into nuetral and try starting it.
