93 Honda accord Code 14
Okay so I cleaned the IAcv and tightened the Fitv. Also the car runs really weak when the Cel is on. Is that normal? Do I just need a new iacv? Btw I know I believe I have a vacuum leak coz I hear a hissing sound when the car is running.

Re: 93 Honda accord Code 14
fix the leak first. if the code pops up again then replace the IACV.

Ok so I believe my car is in limp mode. I haven't fixed the leak yet but could a bad iacv really cause my car go limp mode?

Re: 93 Honda accord Code 14
with a vacuum leak poor performance is possible. fix the CEL first.

Re: 93 Honda accord Code 14
Yea I'm just thinking of it all and it's prolly not on limp mode actually. It's actually just a big vacuum leak. Coz I could seriously hear it. So that's probably why it stalls sometimes and idles really low. Alright I'll look for the leak tomorrow coz its night right now and yea.

Re: 93 Honda accord Code 14
Hey so I'm not sure if this is a vacuum leak. On the driver side under the hood I can hear something. Like its blowing air or something. Then when I turn off the car I can hear it slowly go away like a fan turning off kind.. Is that a vacuum leak or what? Just confused wether I have a leak or not

Re: 93 Honda accord Code 14
The only times I've heard of a car throwing a code 14 was when the iacv was bad. If you test it it should test bad. Test across the terminals it should be 8-15 ohms.
You can either pull one from a junkyard or get one off ebay if you don't have a lot of money. To find the vacuum leak you can get a can of carb cleaner and spray it gently around the area you are hearing the leak at. You will notice the idle of the car change when you hit it. |
