DPFI to MPFI Conversion.

Was curious how hard to do a DPFI to MPFI conversion. I have a D15B2 sohc and would like to get a D16A6 ZC head. How hard is this?

there pretty easy to do.

and you dont need to change the head for a mpfi swap

Any wire's have to be hacked into?
Looking for more hp so would a 1.6 head be better then a 1.5?

a Mini-me is not going to give you much power. just swap the d16 in. their are various ones. here is a link on the mpfi conversion http://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/d...writeup-49557/ here is one on swaps for the efs http://ef-honda.com/ben/EFswapguide.html

just build what you have and if you need someone to do the conversion dpfi to mpfi for a reasonable price, this is the guy you want to talk to because he did my harness =)

Re: DPFI to MPFI Conversion.

Going to need a crx or civic si ecu and distributor and intake mani, of course injectors and resistor box, a few wires will have to be messed with. Been done a million times and there are lots of write-ups. Getting rid of the dpfi is the first ad best step you can take with your Sohc.

Does a D16A6 head even fit on a D15B2 block?? Curious and would be good to know

Re: DPFI to MPFI Conversion.

Yes D16a6 head will bolt onto a D15b2 block. There are certain things you need to do to make timing right because of different deck height. This link should tell you everything you need to know about this particular mini-me.

If you need a new, and I mean brand new conversion harness Lmk. I make these all the time. No used, cut up or soldered together wires. All brand new

Re: DPFI to MPFI Conversion.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with swapping non Vtec heads. If you were to swap heads I would do a Z6 head on the a.5 block. Bolts right up and nets you a zippier little Vtec Engine.

You would need the following

Z6 head
Z6 Dizzy ( with wires )
Z6 ECU
OBD0-OBD1 Jumper harness
4 wire Oxygen Sensor

You would obviously have to do the DPFI to MPFI conversion 1st but that's the easy part.

What you are doing converting from 2 injectors to 4. Also adding Cam Angle sensor ( 2 wires ( blue/green & Blue/ yellow ) and relocating the Crank sensor from c1,c1 to b10, B12.

I can get it done if you are close enough to me. We discuss cost and what not. Most important thing here is to buy all the correct parts. I did a swap for this one guy here and he didnt have the right Dizzy nor the right Intake Manifold. Makes the swap take longer.

Good luck.

Don't know the OP's experience level or anything about him really but from personal experience the first time I tried to wire up a dpfi to mpfi and obd1 it was not fun. I had a jumper harness and converted engine harness as well.

If you plan on boosting vtec hardly matters. If you want to stay N/A with the D15b2 but want a little more power do the A6 head,
mill it a little,
Call up delta cams,
throw on a header and good flowing exhaust along with your mpfi swap it should have alot more pep.

Keep in mind if you do put a cam in mild or wild you will need to tune, and same goes if you mill enough off of the head.
