AC Compressor not working
My wife hit a deer a few months ago. Took a while to get the front bumper cover and hood replaced and when we put it back on the road the AC is not working. Here is what I know:
- The compressor is not coming on. The clutch disks do not start turning when the AC button is pressed. - The pressure switch is made. The relay pulls in and the fans come on when the AC button is pressed, same as they do when I jump the switch. - The relay is working. - The gauge on the r134a refill kit goes into the red when I connect it to the low side (b/c the compressor is not coming on I imagine). Any ideas as to what might be wrong or what to check next? Thanks in advance for any tips. |
Re: AC Compressor not working
check to see if you have power at the plug-in, its a chore to get at though. i just had this problem with my acura el ( same as civic ) i had power right to the pump and it ended up being the magnet for the clutch compressor. costly to buy new ( 1200) i ended up getting a used one as a barter.

Re: AC Compressor not working
Did the condenser take a hit? Did it loose refrigerant? If there's no pressure in the system, the compressor won't come on.
