Can I remove the plastic behind the cam gears?

B18b1, bent the shit out of it, Can I remove it without problems? I think yes. Also, when installing the head gasket, which way do
The indents around the coolant and oil passages face, the block or head? The gasket has no markings.

Thanks

Re: Can I remove the plastic behind the cam gears?

it's fairly only one way fit's. there is a part of the gasket that has number's on the bottem left hand side.
they should be faceing up. there is also a UP mark on the gasket that should be on the exhaust side.

and yeah you can remove the timing cover's but if something was to get stuck in there you could have big problem's
