2006 Civic AT transmission problem
Hello, so I have had a problem with my wife's civic shifting violently. A check engine light came on a little while back but has gone away. I don't recall the actual codes but I know the one was the shift solenoid and the other was a pressure code. The car only has 45xxx miles on it so I'm having a hard time believing the local AAMCO telling me I need to rebuild the whole tranny. Any advice would be great.
Also, when the problem first started I had the transmission fluid changed again(had it done at 25,000 miles ) and there was a green light flashing next to the D on the dash. |
Re: 2006 Civic AT transmission problem
If the D4 light is flashing there are transmission codes being thrown. Pull them and see what they are.
I know your local AAMCO is probably looking for work, but generally speaking when Hondas throw transmission codes, the trans is cooked. I don't recall that the '06 - '11s having much in the way of automatic transmission problems, but I do remember we replaced one when I worked for Honda a couple of years ago. |
