H23 vtec
So I'm ordering an H23 Vtec from Hmotors tomorrow:) and was wondering if anyone has any advice or anything I should know about doing an h23 vtec engine swap in an 2000 Honda accord ex 2 door manual
I have a h22 swap guide in a 6th gen accord handy know that it a basic bolt up etc... ordering ecu with it so that's covered anything I might need to know :):):):):) |
Re: H23 vtec

Re: H23 vtec
H22A4 - H23A VTEC IIRC it's the same swap info. Why not drop it in and let us know how it works out for you. There seem to be quite a few members that come in and ask the same question. Then it seems as though they ether never go threw with the swap or they just never post back to help out others with any info on how the swap went.
Seems as though these days this forum is comprised of more takers than givers. I'm sure no one will hold it against you. If you feel that it's not worth your time to share your experiences! ;) Good luck with the swap  |
Re: H23 vtec
ok
I got a 92 Accord I just put a h23a, dohc vtec in, I am trying to use exsisting wire harness and ecu I put a skunk intake with a 76mm throttle on, headers using exsisting injectors and fuel rail went from auto trans to manual engine, harness, tranny, manifold, and exhuast all in and hanging good swapped distributor housing for prelude housing, accord inturnals cannot get car to stay running past rough idle any suggestions |
Re: H23 vtec
any ecu codes?
check timing, did you do the t-belt, water pump, tensioner before installing? try another known-good ignition coil if possible, check spark plug gap (were they replaced?), check firing order need more info especially any ecu codes to go any further... |
Re: H23 vtec
GhostAccord I will post my swap when done. lol I just order engine today should be here around the 31st.

Re: H23 vtec
On my h23 swap
I now am installing a p28 ecu, have swapped out f22 injectors for the h23 injectors (obd2), bypassed the resister module for the f22 injectors, rebuilt distributor with correct gaps for sensors Expect to have running this weekend if p28 is done being chipped |
Re: H23 vtec
HELP me with wiring harness please
|
Re: H23 vtec
You should use the wiring harness originally from the car worst case scenario is you will have to extend a couple wires.
|
Re: H23 vtec
for my h23a swap in a 5th gen, i used the h23a wiring harness.
if your dizzy is an external, be prepared to re-wire to a internal dizzy since the h23a dizzy is an internal dizzy. |
Re: H23 vtec
True but you have to remember some of these harness's that are shipped for these motor are or could be rhd instead of lhd harness's
|
Re: H23 vtec
my harness was a RHD harness, i just had to extend them and made an adapter for the internal dizzy, just like the rywire one.
|
Re: H23 vtec
Yeah I understand that but if his harness is still good why take it out? And about the external and internal coil part will be his decision. Internal is best tho.
|
my H23 wires were cut in a couple of places one being the distributor

Re: H23 vtec

Re: H23 vtec

Re: H23 vtec
NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) i got h23a vtec blue top and my o2 sensor got damaged from road rash and im having a hard time finding one to replace it the connector on the harness is a 3 wire and i dont know much about harnesses, also im running a p28 ecu plz help
|
Re: H23 vtec
You're not gonna find a 3 wire oxygen sensor for it, the best thing to do is to cut off a connector for 4 wire from a junkyard and buy some shielded wire off ebay and wire up your own. Remember, to cut back the metal shielded portion on the ecu side and put a butt connector on it, then put some wire on the other side and run it to ground. The signal wire for the oxygen sensor needs to be shielded. To find the correct pins, do a search for "obd1 pinout" to find out where to splice in your wires.
