98 Civic DX stalls while driving
My Civic intermittently stalls without warning while driving. I can immediately restart the engine. No check or warning lights appear on the dash. It throws no codes. The A/C and radio continue to work.
I have replaced the fuel pump and filter, the distributor cap and rotor, and had a mechanic check under the hood for electrical issues. My model was not part of the ignition switch recall. I can jiggle the ignition while driving and the car does not stall. It's been suggested to me that the ignitor may be failing but from what I've read that would show up when starting. I don't have any problems starting. Anybody ideas? My mechanic is stumped. I can't reproduce it at will so it's tough to diagnose. But its pretty dangerous to have the vehicle stall while in motion. |

It was the Ignition Control Switch.
