2000 acura integra power door lock problem
considering buying this car with 200,000 canadian km. seller said power door lock switch was working a couple days ago but suddenly stopped. we can still hear it try to lock the doors but won't work. we can only lock and unlock with the key outside. could it be a fuse?

Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
If you can hear it trying, the circuitry is working.
It's likely needing lubrication, but I've seen the rods incorrectly installed (so they bind) too. If everything is correctly assembled and lube is OK, then the solenoid may be weak. Mark |
Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
solenoid or actuators? located in the doors right?
|
Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
If the power door locks do not work on both/all doors then the problem is unlikely the actuators, if it is only a problem on one door then it most likely is the actuator, and yes it is in the door.

Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
so the car is actually a special edition, it does not have power locks. the driver switch is for the hatch unlock/lock. the seller said that it probably came with a remote that locks/unlocks the doors but he does not have it. you guys think this would be a oem remote or an aftermarket one? because theres looks to be an antenna for an alarm near the rear view mirror.

Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
Pretty sure the SE came with power door locks, an SE is just a GS-R without the engine and transmission, if not, actuators may have been added, your going to have to pull a door panel to know for sure.
You said you could hear something in the door, or is it the hatch that is popping? 94 |
Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
the hatch is popping, it's a canadian se. no sunroof either. under the lock switch it says "hatch". hatch locks/unlocks perfectly

Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
alot of times door lock mechanism gets dry and seizes up.
i almost snapped my dor handle when i first bought the car after a quick lube with white lithium grease can i could open it with one finger. try to move the levers by hand if theres alot of resistance then they are dry and you should not try to use the power door locks untill you get it lubed since it will burn out your motors. |
Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
Your still going to have to pull a door panel to see if aftermarket actuators have been installed, or, find the alarm brain and get a make and model and get a remote for it, program the remote and erase any other remotes that may be stored in the brain, if you don't have the remotes, [most come with two] for the alarm, sombody else may.94

Re: 2000 acura integra power door lock problem
When my door is open and I start the car my locking tab moves back and forth rapidly sounding like a machine gun lol. Lubed up everything. Probably just in need of a new actuator. I have aftermarket ones but not sure if they'll do the job perfectly. I remember fcm telling me aftermarket ones don't have a certain something that oem ones have....?
