V16 engine???

So, I was in Track Auto (Small Mid-East Coast chain of parts stores, Bought out by Advance Auto Parts, everything's 30% or more off!) getting brake shoes for my wagon. I'm the only person that I know that wears out rear shoes faster than front pads...

Anyhow, In talking to the parts clerk, he asked if I was going to do anything in terms of performance to the car. I said "C'mon guy, It's a 1985 4wd wagon. What can I possibly do to it?"

He said that they had an article in a recent Honda tuning magazine about these and a V16 engine out of a later model civic like a 1992 might bolt up to my tranny.

V16??? I don't remember that engine code being listed in my previous post about engine codes.

Engine codes... Alphabet Soup.

yeah, he meant d16 or b16, the only car manufacturer to make a v16 engine for a production car in recent years is cadillac and that is not out yet. there's a world of a difference between a d16 and a v16.

a v16? hmmmmm i thiink VW recently made some engine called the "w......fill in the blank." so basically.....a "W" would be two v8's formed to make one engine, or something like that. what an ass kicker that would be. being that this isnt a water cooled vw site though, i doubt anybody will care to expand on that.

or he could have meant a 16v (16 valve) engine.

Just a thought

well there is no 16valve motor that will bolt up to ur tranny really u can mount a ew4 or ew3 from a civic or crx si with 12valves which would be alot more power...u could keep carb setup or do alot of wiring and convert to mpfi but u have a d15a(insert # here) the newer d series mount differently and wont work in ur engine bay but the d15(ew4) will mount and is a better motor

I think its that.

D and V is kind of hard to mix up, unless he slurs and mumbles.

vw makes a W8, not a W16, vw doesnt make a v8 http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emhammer.gif
