turbo and high compression
I wanted know your thoughts on running high compression on my boosted single cam on 15lb?

Re: turbo and high compression
How high compreession we talking?
|
Re: turbo and high compression
yea depends on how high?
the highes i've seen was 10:1 on 10IBS. |
Re: turbo and high compression
its like the higher you go the lower you can boost. =)
|
Re: turbo and high compression
That's way too much boost for high compressin, you would need the worlds best tune, E85 and methanol injection,
|
Re: turbo and high compression
check it out youtube.
not sure what it is but i think it was an S2k. and there is a sohc vtec at 10:1 boosting 16IBS, prob. on race gas. |
Re: turbo and high compression
just do it
|
Re: turbo and high compression
I was thinking 10:1 cause thats the highest I herd and it dont really matter how much pounds of boost I run I just wanna make the most 350hp.

Re: turbo and high compression
I'm doing 7 psi on 10.4 b16

Re: turbo and high compression
Search user mar778c, he made the power you want and more on pump gas and 11.8:1 compression.

Re: turbo and high compression
9.5:1-10:1 compression is fine for boost and 93-94 pump gas if you have a good tune

Re: turbo and high compression
i made 425 on 15lbs on 11.0.1 comp on 93 pump gas
b series tho |
Re: turbo and high compression
The compression does not change how much power you block can handle. You'll really be fine with even 11:1 as long as you don't over power the components

Im trying to do it on pump gas sooo of thats the only way I could then forget it ill go low comp
Look into methanol injection though. You can make it yourself with windsheild washer fluid and Kleen (or other products). I would start out at 10-12psi (depending on the turbo), with a good tune. |

I herd its easy for a dually to do that though

Re: turbo and high compression
And yet no one here talks about boost pressure with a particular turbocharger? What good is giving your brother's-sister's-cousin's-former-roomate's boost pressure without the specific turbocharger mentioned, nor the setup or use needed?
It all depends on what you use..... the next person that starts listing boost pressure and no other information on their setup, I'm comin' through the screen and throwin' 'em a beatin'!! :baseball: |

I mentioned it, two posts above yours, I put "10-12psi (depending on the turbo)"
Be specific, (or at least reasonably specific about your statement), or at the very least say "from what I've experienced", or say nothing.. |
