How hard is re-bending brake lines?

I have acquired a MC for my big brake kit, but I need to bend some lines. Are there tools required, techniques I should know?

I can make a how-to guide with pics if someone tells me how to bend lines properly.

Thanks!

If you want to make nice bends and not kink stuff get a tubing bender (if you're making wide bends you wont need it, but its easy to kink brake lines bending them without it if it's a tight bend. You'll also need a flaring kit. As long as its just regular brake line it's not hard, if it's stainless steel good luck.

A tubing bender. I will procure one. Here is the situation..

As you can see I have two lines on the driver side (bottom of pic) at 90 degrees and 45 degrees.

Here is a front view of my hardline setup. (Driver side on right)

And here's my donor. It has two lines on the passenger side (picture taken from passenger side.)

From the front you can see it has two lines at 90 degrees, but they are on the wrong side.

Is this going to be do-able with a tubing bender without over-stressing anything? (It looks like I will also need a 10x1mm to 12x1mm adapter.

Will I need to flaring kit? For what I'm not understanding...

thanks for your help man I really do appreciate all that you do on HT.

You're going to have to be very careful. I didn't realize you were trying to bend old lines. I had just assumed you were bending new lines from a roll of brake line.If you kink the lines when you try to bend them you'll have to cut them off before the kink and flare the end, and splice on a short new piece of line with a union. DO NOT use compression fittings, and don't use copper tubing if you have to do this.

If you can bend the lines without kinking them then no you wont need a flare kit.

I have my MC ready and I will be rebending lines as described above with a bending tool.

If I kink any, I'll just have to cut and flare them, then add a SS flex-line with the appropriate adapters to take up the space by my fckup.

I'll post up a guide/diy when I do this. Thanks again HT.
