no fuel to rail 92 accord - 2.2 vtec f series

So I swapped my stock f22a for an f22b vtec. It was running and fast, then I parked it and noticed that my glovebox light harness was not mounted. So I plugged it in. I turned the key over to prime the fuel pump and I heard a clicking noise coming from what sounded like a relay in the underhood fuse box. Now when I turn the key over to prime the fuel, I do not receive gas to the rail, but my cel will go off like it has primed.

Oh and no codes.
I am not sure if it's the pump, the relay, the filter or what?!

This i starting to piss me off, any help would be well appreciated.

The function test that is done at the beginning when the CEL comes on and shots off after a few seconds does not test the fuel pump operation or the relays. It tests the functions of the ECU circuits only. The CEL will not stay on for a worn/dead fuel pump or bad relay. I would check all your fuses, check main relay connections, test the main relay and then move on to the fuel pump.

Actually if you look through many threads you will notice that when the light will not go off the fuel pump won't primer. Also, you will notice that many threads will tell you that their c. e. l. will stay on then their fuel will prime after 10-20 secs and the light goes off. So this would give the thought that maybe it does indicate that, and you just hadn't found that. Also, it can indicate that your Main relay is out if it stays on. anyways, as I was saying the light turns off, so it is not my main relay. Also, how would my fuses or main relay cause a relay under the hood to click and go out?

Let me rephrase that. The ECU does not read signals from the Fuel pump or the Main relay. Yes there is a main relay and fuel pump prime test, however, if the fuel pump doesn't prime or the main relay doesn't work that does not through a CEL.

I don't need to look through all these threads, I read the manual. Read a few more threads about no start issues. See whether or not they say that the CEL is on. It's usually not and the fix is still usually power ground, ignition or fuel related. It could be as simple as a loose connection. Where you had just messed around with the wire harness prior to your no start issue. I would look at all of the wire connections under the glove box and see if maybe you pulled one out a bit. All it takes is a loose ground on the ECU for it not to start. With no CEL.

It's great that you read through many threads, most don't read any and just expect answers. Word of advise, your time would probably be better spent reading the manual.

Good luck with your issue

Ghost I too have read the manual, both for the 92 accord I have and the 97 vtec I swapped into it. Ironically, when I installed my new back seat I unplugged the power pin from my fuel pump. I discovered this when I pulled the seat back out to check the pump, This also fixed the bad ground, as well as explain the relay spazzing out. I cut the wire soldered a new pin in place and now my car is running like a gem. Now on to the cosmetics... I am going to take some pics any feedback would be cool.

When I say go off I meant that it turns off after about 2 seconds lol. I can see how that would be confusing.

No confusion here, I knew what you meant.

Glad to hear you found the power/ground issue I was referring too. ;)

Good luck with your cosmetic/aesthetic mods. Looking forward to your pics.
