Loose lug nuts out of the blue...
Parked my car, it ran fine. Now that I returned, drove a little, and noticed my lug nuts were loose on one of my wheels... out of the 4, 3 of them were tremendously loosened about a 1/4".... Anyone know why this may have happened? They were already tightened after I left the car. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to steal blackies... :ugh:

Re: Loose lug nuts out of the blue...
When did you tighten them last? Did you torque down the lug nuts?

Re: Loose lug nuts out of the blue...
They were tightened about three weeks ago, when I got a new rim. Yes i did torque them down earlier.

I hate to make you paranoid .... But, perhaps someone is intentionally loosening your wheels?

So can corrosion on the studs causing false torque readings on the wrench during tightening. |

Incorrect lug nut seats for the wheels can cause that.
