PAINTING AN EG HATCH!

so im starting on an eg hatch build and i wanna start by gutting it down completely interior, engine and everything and get it painted the same silver that crx's had. my friend has a spray gun and booth and all that stuff but i need to know like the steps to painting i guess like do i sand down the inside of the car also the engine bay? like how does it all work and how much should i expect to pay in paint? also if anyone has any links to threads on how to strip down eg hatch's it would be much apreciated
thanks, drew

how much you spend has a lot to do with paint brand and color that you choose. if you want a nice quality job it wouldn't be cheap, it's also going to be some work. (depending on how beat up the car is)

you can get a cheap base coat paint, but get some good clear, and it'll come out looking good. I wouldn't use super pricey clear for the inside since no one is really gonna see that with all your panels on(assuming you put them back in) but on the outside, you could use some good clear. I just recently tried DuPont clear on my Prelude, and I definitely like how it lays..With your $900 budget, you can get all the supplies you need and still have money left over if you spend it on the right stuff

Check out Southern polyuretherane (SPI), great pricing and definitely a quality product.

Another tip is to take your time with sanding and the painting. Don't rush anything. Waiting that little bit/taking the time is well worth not wasting money and the time to prep it again.
