White smoke from engine after Seafoam treatment
I just used 1/3 can of Seafoam through the PVC valve of my 91 accord (320k miles), and after (or while) I did it, white smoke was coming from the engine bay. It seemed at first like it was coming from the valve cover but then I saw that it was coming from below the VC... It did fix my idle problem (thank God) and it also made my car run better, but i'm kind of surprised / worried about this smoke from the engine.
But what could this be? Is it a bad problem? I read on the internet that it could have been a vacuum leak. Thanks. Misha |

It comes out the engine also. Done it numerous times...

It comes out the exhaust, if theres a leak it comes out there too. Porbably a cracked exhaust manifold.

Or worn out rings where it goes past the rings and down into the crankcase and of course you'll see it come out some other places such as valve cover, etc.

Add the recommended amounts to the fuel and oil, this may help a sticking ring, but if a ring or cylinder is bad, or the valve guide is sloppy, the white smoke will find the path of least resistance, be it a bad ring/cylinder, valve guide, or gasket. |
