Gas Pedal Not working... HELP ASAP!!!!!
 

URGH!

I want to set my car on fire....

I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si. I have replaced nearly every freaking piece on this evil car.

I was driving home from a concert tonight... car was running normally... and then all of a sudden the Gas Pedal just gives out. I was able to coast it into a parking lot. There is no response to the pedal. You press down on it and it just goes straight to the floor.

I don't know if the cable went out? Or if this is an easy fix or if I have to spend even more money on this evil beast.

Please let me know ASAP. My cell phone of course died prior to this happening and I was just lucky enough to get to walk back to my parents home (which I guess I'm lucky it was only a couple miles away). URGH. Help!!!!!

When you press the pedal down does anything move on the throttle body?

I dont know. I just left it in a parking lot and walked to my parents house.

I tried to push down on it while the car was still on and it made no response. like the pedal just went straight to the floor and didnt do anything :(

Didnt pop the hood or anything since it's dark outside.

Couple of different thing couldve happened, throttle cable either snapped came loose at the pedal or the throttle body itself, or the spring on the throttle body took a shit.

are these things that are easily replaced/fixed? Or something that needs the engine pulled apart for??

URGH. Anyone want to blow up a Si for me???

I have put a new engine in it, new cat, new clutch, new radiator, new ac, new brakes, new whatever else I could have put in it. I am so freaking frustrated!!!!!

its probably just a broken cable or the bolts came out of the throtle cable bracket . eazy fix..

Does anyone know what size this cable is? Do I have to get a "Honda" cable or can I just go to Napa or Autozone and pick up a generic one? I haven't gone back to look at it quite yet, but luckily my daddy is here and said it should be easy....

Thanks guys!!!!! I was seriously wanting to cry last night. This car has been giving me nothing but problems this past year. -- Oh and last week, some dumbass punk kids decided to break in and steal random parts -- including the freaking SI logo.. GRRRR!

Looked at the car -- Yup, throttle cable is broken -- looks like from the pedal to the engine? Think I have to go to Honda to actually get the part - which of course are all closed on Sundays...

Still an easy fix???

Jeez. Take off the old cable. Installation is the reverse of removal.

cable is broken - like snapped... from the pedal to the hood. I took off what I could, but its a freaking PITA to do. Specially since I dont really know what I'm doing.... =( Would much rather pay someone to do it quickly than to get more frustrated!!!!

Tried Autozone, Napa Auto Parts, Pepboys, BAP Imports etc - seems like everywhere is closed today! Which means I get stuck driving a crappy ass Benz =/

not that hard to change... takes maybe 15 minutes out of your time

i hate it that girls think just cause theyre girls on the forum they will get anyone to do it for them when my gf wants something done to her teg i tell her to get into the FAQ's and do it so you try thesame..

Just try to replace it yourself. It takes like 5 mins.

hey guys i woke this morning to the throttle cable really loose and the gas pedal goes all the way down. i have slowly been working on this car on what i can, I still havent done the cluster but, i really need help with this throttle cable. where would i go under or near to be able to change it or fix it or stap it back on? Im like so frustrated its super hot outside
