D16y8 head on D16y5 block. help.

i have an 00 civic ex with a d16y5 engine.

one of the cylinders is blown so instead of fixing that, im just gonna buy a new head for it.

now, i need to know if i will need any mods or anything special to put a d16y8 head on a d16y5 block??

Um. If the cylinder is blown a new head won't fix it.

well i took it up to the shop and they said something was warped or cracked, not blown.

and they said my best option would be just to replace the head.

What was warped cracked or blown? You should get more knowledgeable about what is going on with your car if you don't want to get ripped off. They should have been able to tell you exactly.

Check the FAQ for any mini-me write ups.
