Re: good hard top brands
If you can find an OEM one, then I'd suggest going that route. You can't find a better fit than that, however, if money is not a factor, I would also look into the mugen Cf or Frp. They, too, fit like a glove, but are a bit more expensive.
I personally don't like the spoon hardtop...but I'd just stay away from chaser aero. They are a horrible company to deal with and fitment is not that good. Seibon makes some good replicas as does vis. Very affordable, but like I said, it will not fit perfectly without messing with it for a bit. Shine auto is a bit on the better fitting side, and they are great to deal with. Also, when you get into the aftermarket hardtops, just realize that they usually don't come with the inner liner, and more prone to noise. It's a tradeoff of course, as we all know. Good luck with your decision dude  |

I don't know anything about hardtops but I remember randomly seeing this thread ago, might help you

Re: good hard top brands
My VIS FRP fits perfect and with the new window seal package VIS is providing its a perfect seal on them as well. I would however recommend finding an actual glass rear window as the polycarbonate rear window I ordered is pretty flimsy

Re: good hard top brands
OEM or Mugen are the only two that I recommend.

Re: good hard top brands
I did a pretty extensive research on hardtops a few years back... Basically:
From best to worst... Oem -> Challenger -> Mugen and Seibon (Seibon is hit or miss though) -> VIS and Spoon -> everything else -> Chaser The Challenger ht is based on the OEM and is the lightest ht (30lbs with hardware) followed by the Seibon (31lbs with hardware), then the Mugen cf (34lbs with hardware) then the other CF ht, then oem (47lbs), then the spoon (I've heard 55lbs+) |

Any one have experience with the GT Challenge hardtop? Fit/Finish?

Re: good hard top brands
I'm going to concur with some of the other posters in this thread and elect the OEM hardtop as a solid brand. I was actually looking into buying a hardtop for my '04 S2000 on account of the added security/aesthetic improvement that it makes
On that note, does anyone know whether or not AP1 and AP2 hardtops are compatible? Note that the OEM part # for the AP2 hardtop is 69100-S2A-901ZZ. |

I have a VIS Mugen style If you wanna put the time into it it can fit nicely but other than that I know the OEM is perfect and Most people who have a real MUGEN seem happy as well. |
