Re: how to replace front wheel bearings on 1990 accord
autozone has repair manuals for this, or you can simply take off the knuckle and take it down to a machine shop and pay them 20 bucks to press out the hub and bearings for you.

Re: how to replace front wheel bearings on 1990 accord
Most auto parts stores sell repair manuals for Honda Accords. When I replaced mine, I just removed the knuckles and let my local Napa shop press out the old ones and press in the new ones.

Re: how to replace front wheel bearings on 1990 accord
Take a look at just about any front brake rotor replacement thread for the 90-97 Accord and you'll see talk about how to get the bearing/rotor/hub assembly apart from the knuckle to replace the font brake rotor. Take a look in the FAQ and use the search function.
basically... lift and support front of vehicle remove wheels remove axle nut loosen 4 bolts holding rotor to the hub remove brake caliper remove castle nut remove lower ball joint pop lower ball joint free from the control arm to gain room for removing axle remove axle from hub put lower ball joint back into control arm remove 3 bolts from back side of knuckle holding the bearing/rotor/hub assembly to the knuckle now, if you are lucky the assembly will come apart from the knuckle with a little effort. But more likely than that is the bearing will be rusted into the knuckle and take some force to remove. If you aren't able to remove the bearing/rotor/hub assembly yourself, you can remove the entire knuckle assembly from the car and take it to a machine shop and have them use a press to remove the assembly, remove the hub from the bearing and press the hub into the new bearing. Then I would clean the knuckle up really good, put some anti-seize or grease in the bearing bore to make removal the next time easier, and reassemble everything. |

Re: how to replace front wheel bearings on 1990 accord
so is there any other way of replacing besides taking the spendal off?
|
Re: how to replace front wheel bearings on 1990 accord
yes, please re-read my first post...
you may only need to remove the knuckle if the bearing/rotor/hub assembly doesn't want to come out after removing the 3 bolts on the back. |

Might have something to do with the fact that the OP and xpsychojasonx are probably the same user.
