Clutch making a clicking noise... HELP!!!!!

For the past couple of months, my clutch started making a squeaking noise whn I push it in. The other day, it started making a clicking noise when I let off the clutch. It is just one click about halfway when im letting off the clutch. It does it whether im in gear or just in neutral. Anyone know what this is??? Maybe I have to lubricate something? Thanks for any help

its common, mine does it all the time. sometimes it squeaks sometimes it pops sometimes it clicks, the best remedy is turning your music up. Some people say its the master cyl, check for any fluid at the top of the clutch pedal. i know mines fine and its not your clutch going out, mine did it before and after the new clutch. the funny thing is that it will just stop and then start again.

I'm prretty sure all you guys are hearing your throw out bearing. your going to need to replace it. This does require you to seperate the bell housing i.e. pulling your engine.

hope this helps, and for any of you that do not have a lift or a hoist, hope that I am wrong
Good luck http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/embeer.gif

Re: Clutch making a clicking noise... HELP!!!!! (You Know Me)

Your problems are most likely from the clutch release bearing. The life of said bearing is dependent on your driving habits(or whoever drives your car). My OE clutch had plenty of disk left, but the bearing was toast thanks to the previous owner.

Also the cluch pedal itself can make some noise if you don't have it properly adjusted. I found out mine was allowing the piston to extend too far, fixed that and no more pedal noises. But a noise coming from under your foot, and a noise coming from under the hood are a world apart. Try looking for info on a throwout bearing or release bearing.

once you have the tranny off no, but what you gotta do to get to it is definatedly a pain. its not necesarily that either, i have a brand new one in mine an it still does it.

Almost 100% sure it is your throw-out bearing.

When I had this problem I fixed it putting some grease on the slave cylinder. Instuctions are here in this thread:

Guys, I had my act HDSS clutch for about 6k miles now. I got off the highway today, and when I letoff the clutch fast, even in neutral, i hear a loud clicking noise, metal to metal sound. Deff coming from inside the tranny. Even when I am parked and the engine is off, i hear it. and can feel it in the pedal, ideas?

Just wondering, is the clicking sound different from clutch chatter? I hear that those beefier aftermarket clutches just make more noise natually.

Here is a thread w/ some pics to illustrate how to fix this problem. I used the high temp lube that comes in the tubs at Autozone. HTH

Yes this is more of a creaking noise...like something needs to be greased. Clutch chatter is similar to starting in a higher gear at low speeds. Lots of rumbling and shaking from the clutch and in the car. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif
