is the serial number from the vin the same number on the eng/trans?
title says it all. are the last digits of the car's vin number (the serial number) the same number stamped on the engine block and trans sticker that originally came on the car?

No, the engine serial number has no correlation with the VIN in North America. However, in other markets such as the UK, the engine stamp and VIN are engraved onto a plate on the firewall such as this:

Re: is the serial number from the vin the same number on the eng/trans?
is there any relation to the serial number on the eng/trans to the vehicle itself?
or is the trans' serial number the same as the original motor paired with it from the factory? |

Both my 97 & 99 have a vin plate right on the tranny so unless someone removed it... I dunno if 92-95 has them but 96-00 definitely does.
