how to replace front shock absorber for accord 1992
My honda accord 1992, has a front passenger side shock absorber leaking.
Is it a difficult process to replace with a new one. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. |

Re: how to replace front shock absorber for accord 1992
Accords don't use shock absorbers up front.
Problem solved. Real answer: Remove wheel Remove 17mm nut & bolt at bottom of strut fork. Remove 14mm bolt from top of strut fork. Remove 12mm bolt that attaches brake lines to strut. Using hammer, remove fork from strut. Remove 3 nuts that hold strut to strut tower. Remove entire strut assembly. Place strut assembly in spring compressor. Remove strut mount retaining nut. Transfer spring seat, spring, bump stop, and dust boot to new strut. Install new strut in spring compressor and compress spring. Reuse old strut mount and install retaining nut. Install in reverse order of removal. http://www.dealerdirectparts.com/v/v...os/4420835.gif Please PM xtrac1 for further detailed explanations and diagrams. Edit: Oops, that's a pic of the rear. PM xtrac1 for a pic of the front. |
