Re: how to install harmonic balancer bolt
You need to keep the crank from rotating in order to get the proper torque specs. You will need to use a Honda crank pulley tool to keep the crank from rotating. Or find another way to keep the crank from rotating. I have a crank tool so I'm not sure of the back yard mechanics way of doing this. Someone else will have to chime in.

Re: how to install harmonic balancer bolt
Most people use an air gun to get it as tight as they can. I torque them on, but outside of the dealer and a few people like me, I've never seen anyone else torque them to proper specs because most people don't have a torque wrench that'll go up to 181 pounds which is the proper spec.

Re: how to install harmonic balancer bolt
If you have an old serpentine belt lyin around you can have a buddy hold it tight around the crank while you torque it.

Re: how to install harmonic balancer bolt
Hey guys I am trying to find the specs for the torque needed on a 92 acura integra harmonic balancer. If anyone has those numbers, please let me know. I believe its like 130.. but I can't remember, it's been some time. Also, any tips on getting the tensioner bolt loose on the alternator? Can't seem to get an angle to get the socket on the bolt.

Re: how to install harmonic balancer bolt
no this thread is about a 98 accord 2.3l.. I'm asking about a 92 integra 1.8l. So no, it's not earlier in this thread. All I need is the torque number on it, I've done this before but I just don't remember how much torque it calls for.
